Checking out eBooks is easy as pie! Once you find one in the catalog (a.k.a., searching on the "Books" tab), click the "View eBook" link to get to the book's information page. Just like this:

That will bring you to the detail page for the eBook. At that point you can decide whether you want to check it out at all! You can simply click the "Read Online" button to view it in your web browser. It doesn't get easier than that.

If you do want to check it out and download it, click the "Download" button to get more options. The first time you do this, you'll have to make sure you have the right software installed. If you're on a computer, you'll need a free copy of Adobe Digital Editions. If you're on another kind of device, you'll probably need Bluefire Reader. Either way, you'll see a note under the Download button that tells you what you need.

Tip: Install the software before you try to download the ebook or you'll have trouble locating the file later.

Now you're ready to download. Choose the length of your checkout period (it's up to you!) and click the blue Download button. Your computer will begin downloading an .acsm file, which should open automatically in the software you've already installed. If not, you can select the software in the dialog box.
