The database Gale Virtual Reference Library is a great place to find broad information on a topic. You can find a link to Gale at the bottom of the Library homepage ( in the "Top Databases" box.

I searched for: "religion ancient Rome"

There are a couple entries that look helpful like, Religion, Roman from Ancient Greece and Rome: An Encyclopedia for Students:

You can also search for specific religions in Gale, like "Catholicism" or "polytheism" (belief in more than one god) to get more detailed information.

It looks like we have several books on religion in ancient Greece, but not Rome! We can purchase some books on the topic like: Religions of Rome: Volume 1: A History ( It should be here in a few days. Let me know if you'd like it put on hold for you or mailed to your house.

I hope this helps, but let me know if you would like help finding more sources.
