Laptop Requests

Request a laptop using the Request It form (so we can make sure we have one available for you first) and then select a pick-up option. There you can select to pick up at either our APIN or NCMP library locations using our library lockers.

If we have a laptop for you, then you will receive an email from the library confirming a laptop is checked out to you, and then another email from Ballbox (the company that makes our lockers) with login information to access the locker holding your laptop. Click here for locker FAQ.

If a laptop is not available, you will receive an email from us letting you know you are on the waiting list.

Laptop Returns

To return a laptop, you can bring it in to either library location while we're open, or you can use the same locker login information to return your laptop to our lockers! Just let us know by email that you have dropped it off! If you don't remember your login, just contact us and we can get that information to you.

Laptops are due at the end of each semester so that data can be wiped and updated for the next semester. Even if you are planning to borrow a laptop for the next semester, you still must return a current semester's laptop so that it can receive updates. When you return your laptop, you can submit a request for one for the following semester and be added to the list.

Laptop Agreements

Students checking out laptops must sign the user agreement when requesting a laptop. This agreement says that students will return them on time by their due date or face a hold on their student account and fines. Students also agree to return the laptop if they withdraw from CWI, as it is the property of CWI.

If a laptop is not returned on time, after 2 weeks the laptop will be locked. After another 2 weeks, the student's CWI account will be shut down (affecting all systems including computer, Blackboard, and email access) until such time as the overdue laptop is returned.
